This FEMA-funded Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) project is an example of an environmentally sustainable system that will help reduce the risk of flooding in the historic Pontchartrain Park. The project is currently more than 95 percent complete and scheduled to be wrapped up in March 2021.
The Pontilly Neighborhood Stormwater Network extends from Stephen Girard Avenue to Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO). A pre-construction community meeting was held in February 2019 at Mary D. Coghill Elementary School. View the pre-construction public meeting presentation here.
