Hard Rock Construction crews are continuing work on the $6.3M Mid-City Group A infrastructure and road improvement project. Currently, crews are preparing the roadway in the 2700 block of Conti for a temporary layer of asphalt to provide relief to residents and businesses along this corridor. There have been numerous unforeseen challenges on this block including three water leaks.  As a result, the scope of the work on this block will be expanded to include a full waterline replacement as a part of the Mid-City Group B, currently in construction.

Hard Rock Construction Co., LLC crews, in close collaboration with Department of Public Works and the Sewerage and Water Board, continued final walkthroughs and punch list items on the Freret Group A  project this month. Project officials expect to have the majority of punch list items addressed by early June 2021. 

Due to weather and construction-related delays, the 3100 block of Broadway Street between Earhart Boulevard and Colapissa Street will remain closed through mid-June 2021. City of New Orleans Department of Public Works' contractor, Wallace C. Drennan Construction Company will continue sewer-line replacement operations as part of the Marlyville-Fontainebleau Group C infrastructure improvement project. On Monday, April 26, weather permitting, the City of New Orleans, Department of Public Works Public will close the intersection of Conti and Royal streets to accommodate utility upgrades.  Public safety is our priority; signage and flaggers will be in place to direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic respectively. Businesses in the area are being notified about the closure this week.
