FRERET GROUP A APPROACHES 95 PERCENT COMPLETION

Hard Rock Construction Co. LLC, crews are quickly approaching 95 percent completion on the Freret Group A  project. The completed work represents the original scope of work that began in February 2020. Crews have completed over 90 percent of the asphalt work and 100 percent of the original water line work on this project. While the project is over 90 percent complete, additional work added to the project will extend the overall completion to spring 2021.

MID-CITY GROUP A MAKES STRIDES TOWARD COMPLETION

Hard Rock Construction crews completed roadway paving and sidewalk work on Conti, S. Salcedo, Dupre and Gayoso streets on the Mid City Group A project. Crews also completed major water line repairs throughout the project.

WORK ON UPPERLINE SET TO RESUME IN NOVEMBER

After the approval of additional work on Upperline Street, Hard Rock Construction crews will resume water line work as a part of the Freret Group A  project in November. Crews recently completed 90 percent of the asphalt removal on the 2800 block of Upperline but paused to address a needed redesign of the water linework on the block.  FEMA, the City of New Orleans Department of Public Works and the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans recently approved the improvements to the original design, giving the contractor the ability to complete the work on this block.

CENTRAL CITY GROUP A PROJECT BEGINS WITH EXPLORATORY EXCAVATION

The $9.1M Central City Group A began in late September with exploratory excavation. Barriere Construction crews will begin drain and sewer work on S. Derbigny (First Street to Josephine Street), S. Rocheblave (Toledano Street to Martin Luther King Boulevard) and First Street (Loyola Avenue to S. Liberty Street) in mid-October.  Residents will continue to be informed ahead of any work that will involve utility disruption and/or impact their parking and access to their streets.

CONVENTION CENTER BOULEVARD CONSTRUCTION

The New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center is reconstructing Convention Center Boulevard between Poydras and Henderson streets in the Warehouse District. The construction, which is currently 95 percent complete, is part of the $557M Convention Center Development District Project that includes converting Convention Center Boulevard into a landscaped public park.  In October crews installed park-side light poles and cast stone tops and continued cleaning up the site.
