GENTILLY RESILIENCE DISTRICT UPDATES

The Cantrell Administration is working with the existing pump capacity by building additional storage around the city utilizing parks, vacant land, and innovative streetscaping to create temporary storage to hold rain during those big events while the pumps catch up.  This approach, combined with efficiencies to the pump system to get the most capacity of the pumps and reliably provide power to the system, as well as our ongoing effort to keep litter out of the drainage system, is our immediate priority to get the most out of the existing system.

The Pontchartrain Park Group A project has reached near completion of new waterline installation operations and house connections. Currently, Hard Rock Construction Co., LLC crews are connecting the new lines to the main waterline on the following streets: Campus Boulevard, Providence Place and Pressburg Street.

ST CLAUDE GROUP E BEGINS CONSTRUCTION

Sewer and water line replacements are continuing on the $4.5M St. Claude Group E project that began in January 2020. Full depth construction has moved to Feliciana Street. Construction on Desire Street continues with a bus and traffic detour being implemented until Mid-July. Please see the Regional Transit Authority website for further details. This project was designed by Hatch Mott MacDonald and will be constructed by Boh Bros Construction Co., LLC.
