Durr Heavy Construction, LLC crews are scheduled to begin work on the first of two planned FEMA-funded construction projects on the Westbank of New Orleans in late April, Westbank Group A.
The approximately $3.7 million project was designed by Richard C. Lambert Consultants, LLC and includes work throughout the Westbank.
In preparation for construction, the Sewerage and Water Board Maintenance Division is repairing minor water leaks located within the project area.
The type of work planned varies by block but will include the following:
- Patch Mill / Overlay: Repaving the asphalt roadway from curb to curb and repairing damaged sidewalks;
- Patch Concrete: Removing damaged portions of the concrete roadway and replacing it with new smooth concrete pavement;
- Incidental Road Repairs: Removing damaged portions of the asphalt roadway and replacing it with new smooth pavement; and
- Non-Paving Incidentals: Repairing damaged sidewalks, driveway aprons and curbs within the public right-of-way.
