Beverly Construction, LLC, crews have completed a large portion of the work on both Nottingham and Schindler streets on Read Boulevard East Group B project. While Nottingham is completely open to residents, Schindler is only partially paved (Chef Menteur Highway to Pressburg Street) because of the temporary moratorium on waterline tie ins due to COVID-19.
Currently residents on Schindler Drive impacted by this pause in work have been provided temporary access to their driveways. Tie-in operations will be scheduled immediately after the moratorium is lifted. Residents will continue to be notified of work that will impact their access and/or cause disruption to their utilities.
The scope of this $3.6M Patch, Mill, Overlay and Incidental Road Repair project varies by block but includes:
- Repaving the asphalt roadway from curb-to-curb;
- Patching the roadway with asphalt or concrete;
- Repairing damaged sidewalks and driveway aprons;
- Installing Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant curb ramps at intersections; and
- Replacing / repairing damaged underground water, sewer, and/or drainage lines.
Details of this project were first made available at the pre-construction public meeting. View a copy of the public meeting presentation and details about construction sequencing here.
