The Gentilly Resilience District (GRD) is a combination of resilience programs and projects in the targeted area of Gentilly, designed to reduce flood risk, slow land subsidence, improve energy reliability and spur neighborhood revitalization.
We are continuing our commitment to provide the community with opportunities to GET INVOLVED!!! While current public health guidelines do not support in-person outreach activities, we are adapting by planning alternative options for community engagement in the design process for the GRD portfolio of projects. These forums will be accessible via telephone as well as online.
The St. Anthony Green Streets in connection with the Public Arts project team will be hosting a series of events that will offer participants the opportunity to:
- CHECK IN with representatives of the Arts Council, City, design team, and the Water Leaders Institute
- LEARN & EXPLORE topics such as water infrastructure and neighborhood resilience
- MEET the artists developing public art proposals
- PROVIDE INPUT on both projects
- SEE & HEAR project updates
The Blue & Green Corridors project has entered the final stages of the design process, and transitioning from soliciting and incorporating public feedback to preparing the community for the changes to come – based on the collaborative design process. The project team is planning a series of stewardship events to evoke ownership and demonstrate how public input has shaped the near final design. These events will give participants a chance to:
- LEARN more about the technical aspects of the design in an “easy to understand” manner
- GAIN a greater understanding of the implemented design and
- SEE how this redesigned urban landscape will impact daily life for project area residents
Look out for postal mailers with project updates as well as more details on how you can SPRING into action and join us by phone or the internet! For more information, please contact 504.658.7623.
