The City is planning to use funds approved by voters during the 2016 bond sale to re-pave several high traffic roadways in New Orleans East this fall.
Curran Blvd. between Mayo and Crowder boulevards in the Little Woods neighborhood is scheduled to be repaved this summer. Construction crews will remove the top layer of asphalt, replace it with a new layer of asphalt, install American with Disabilities Act-compliant curb ramps at intersections and replace missing or damaged sidewalks. Construction of the $600K project will be completed by Barriere Construction Co., LLC. Work is scheduled to begin in the fall and will last about two months.
Bond funds will also be used to repair damaged portions of Bullard Ave. between Hayne Blvd. and Chef Mentuer Hwy. The majority of the work includes concrete panel replacements and drainage structure adjustments. The $350K project will be completed by Roubion Roads and Streets, LLC. It is scheduled to start in August 2017 and last approximately two months.
