City of New Orleans Department of Public Works contractor Palmisano Construction continued waterline replacements in July on the Lake Terrace Group A project. Crews are working in collaboration with Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans to replace waterlines before performing tie-ins to the existing meters. Residents will be notified in advance of any schedule work that will temporarily disrupt utility services.
Upon completion of the waterline work, crews will immediately return to work on Robert E. Lee Boulevard to address some driveway and asphalt work. There has been a temporary pause due to the approval process to incorporate additional work to address sidewalk and roadway subsidence that was not included in the original plans. The project is currently 25 percent complete.
This $2.5M Incidental Road Repair project includes the following scope of work:
- Patching the roadway with asphalt;
- Replacing damaged portions of concrete with new, level concrete;
- Repairing damaged curbs and gutters;
- Repairing damaged sidewalks and driveway aprons;
- Installing Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant curb ramps at intersections; and
- Replacing/repairing damaged underground water and drainage lines.
The City hosted a pre-construction public meeting to discuss the project’s construction sequencing and anticipated impacts. View a copy of the presentation here.
