The St. Claude Group A Project was designed by Rahman and Associates, Inc. and is being built by Hard Rock Construction Company, LLC. The $3.8M project is estimated to be complete in early 2020.
Due to the high river, work on the streets within the project scope and boundaries of St. Claude Avenue - Homer Plessy Way, Burgundy Street, France Street, and Poland Avenue – was delayed. Work is anticipated to resume on these streets in the September time frame.
Crews have mobilized north of St. Claude to continue to install Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant ramps, sidewalks, and driveways. Work is occurring on N. Rampart, Bartholomew, Gallier, Desire, Pauline, Independence, Congress, Montegut, N. Johnson, N. Roman, N. Derbigny and Saint Ferdinand streets.
The scope of work varies by block but includes the following types of work:
- Patch Mill/Overlay: Repaving the asphalt roadway from curb to curb and repair damaged sidewalks;
- Patch Concrete: Removing damaged portions of the concrete roadway and replace it with new smooth concrete pavement;
- Incidental Road Repairs: Removing damaged portions of the asphalt roadway and replace it with new smooth pavement; and
- Non-Paving Incidentals: Repairing damaged sidewalks, driveway aprons and curbs within the public right-of-way.
