Command Construction Industries, LLC continues to finish waterline work across the $4.5M Filmore North Group A project. Once tie-ins are complete, asphalt crews will mobilize. All catch basins in driveways will be converted to rollovers. Due to inclement weather, crews will be working Monday through Saturday in order to stay on schedule.
The estimated budget including engineering, design, geotechnical testing and construction planned in the entire Filmore neighborhood is approximately $67M. This budget is likely to change pending project bids and construction costs.
Designed by Professional Engineering Consultants Corporation (PEC), the first project varies by block and includes some waterline replacements:
- Patch Mill/Overlay: Repaving the asphalt roadway from curb to curb and repair damaged sidewalks;
- Patch Concrete: Removing damaged portions of the concrete roadway and replace it with new smooth concrete pavement;
- Incidental Road Repairs: Removing damaged portions of the asphalt roadway and replace it with new smooth pavement; and
- Non-Paving Incidentals: Repairing damaged sidewalks, driveway aprons and curbs within the public right-of-way.
The City hosted a pre-construction community meeting in January 2019 to discuss anticipated construction impacts. View a copy of the presentation here. To be added to the project contact list, and to track our progress, visit RoadWork.nola.gov.
