Water line work continues in the St. Claude Drainage Improvement Project, and crews from Infinity Construction remain focused on forming and pouring new sidewalks.  Catch basins, sidewalks and manhole adjustments were made in the 2900 block of Marais Street and the 1100 blocks of Feliciana and Montegut streets. Additional work completed includes installations of curbs, gutters, and bioretention planters and swales for drainage. Crews began prepping those blocks for final paving as well.

Public safety is our priority as we continue our infrastructure work during this trying time for our city.  With hurricane season now under way, we are working with our contractors to ensure that their plans are finalized to secure sites ahead of any tropical weather event.

Department of Public Works’ construction contractors are currently at Lincoln Beach removing debris, clearing overgrown landscaping and repairing structures deemed to be in imminent danger of collapse as determined by licensed engineers.

The Lower Ninth Ward South Group A  project began in late August 2020. This $7.6M project was designed by IMS Engineers and is being constructed by Command Construction Co, LLC.

The $6.4M Viavant-Lake Catherine Group C project will begin construction this month at Industrial Parkway. This project was designed by All South Consulting Engineers, LLC and will be constructed by Command Construction Industries, LLC. Click here to view a map of the project scope.
