On the West Bank, the $400K city funded Bocage Maintenance Improvements project continued to make progress in August. Hard Rock Construction crews are replacing concrete roadway panels on the 3600-3700 blocks of Rue Andree, 3500-3700 blocks of Rue Colette, and the 3500-3700 blocks of Rue Delphine, Rue Denise, Rue Michelle, Rue Mignon, and Rue Nichole. The project also includes replacement of sidewalks as needed.
In August, crews from Barriere construction began installing permeable paving in the parking lanes along Notre Dame Street between Magazine Street and Convention Center Boulevard. The $800K city-funded project also includes installing three feet of stormwater storage and a perforated pipe underneath the pavement. The surface of the street is being repaved from curb to curb and new sidewalks will be installed. Construction is scheduled to be complete in late 2020, weather permitting.
The $250K city-funded Village De L’Est Healthy Community Trail was recently completed (pictured). The trail, which was installed behind residences on Lourdes Street between Michoud Boulevard and the canal, received the final layer of asphalt in August.
