The Lower Ninth Ward Northeast Group B   project began in late June with the excavation of St. Maurice Avenue (between North Roman and North Prieur streets). Crews are currently excavating in preparation for installing new water and drain lines. Residents will be notified of work that will impact their access and/or cause disruption to their utilities.

This $5.8M project was designed by Neel-Schaffer, Inc. and will be constructed by Fleming Construction Co, LLC.

This is a full-depth reconstruction project, but work varies block by block:

• Replacing damaged underground water, sewer and drainage lines;
• Repaving the roadway;
• Replacing damaged sidewalks and driveway aprons; and
• Installing Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant curb ramps at intersections.
