The City of New Orleans contractor Hard Rock Construction, LLC has completed all waterline replacements in the first phase of the Lakewood Group A Patch, Mill, Overlay and Incidental Road Repair project. There have been concentrated efforts to complete work on Maryland Drive and Fairway Drive during the month of December. Crews have already completed pours on the 100 – 400 blocks of Maryland Drive.
Residents will continue to be notified in advance of any scheduled work that will restrict access to their streets and/or driveways.
The scope of work for this $1.6M project varies block by block but includes the following:
- Patching the roadway with asphalt;
- Replacing damaged portions of concrete with new, level concrete;
- Repairing damaged curbs and gutters;
- Repairing damaged sidewalks and driveway aprons;
- Installing Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant curb ramps at intersection; and
- Replacing/repairing damaged underground water, and drainage lines.
Construction activity is 46 percent complete the overall project (including design) is 55 percent complete.
