Command Construction Industries, LLC is scheduled to begin working on the Filmore North Group A contract in January 2019. The contract award was delayed due to a contract protest.
The estimated budget including engineering, design, geotechnical testing and construction planned in the entire Filmore neighborhood is approximately $67M. This budget is likely to change pending project bids and construction costs.
Designed by Professional Engineering Consultants Corporation (PEC), the first project will include a variety of work that varies by block and includes some waterline replacements, as well as:
- Patch Mill / Overlay: Repaving the asphalt roadway from curb to curb and repairing damaged sidewalks;
- Patch Concrete: Removing damaged portions of the concrete roadway and replacing it with new smooth concrete pavement;
- Incidental Road Repairs: Removing damaged portions of the asphalt roadway and replacing it with new smooth pavement; and
- Non-Paving Incidentals: Repairing damaged sidewalks, driveway aprons and curbs within the public right-of-way.
The City will host a pre-construction public meeting on Jan. 15, 2019 at 6 p.m. at Holy Trinity Cathedral. The meeting content will discuss anticipated construction impacts prior to the start of construction. To be added to the project contact list, and to track our progress, visit RoadWork.nola.gov.
