Wallace C. Drennan, Inc. crews began excavating the street and installing new water lines this month as part of the Marlyville-Fontainebleau Group C infrastructure improvement project. Crews recently completed sewer line repairs and house line installations on State Street between Walmsley and Fontainebleau and have moved on to conduct the same repairs and house line installations on State Street between Pritchard Place and Grape Street. A second construction crew has started work on Neron Place.
We will continue to inform residents ahead of any work that will involve utility disruption and/or impact their parking and access to their street.
This $10.5M project was designed by Schenk, Endom & Flanagan. As a full depth reconstruction project, work varies block by block but includes:
- Repave asphalt roadway from curb-to-curb;
- Repair damaged sidewalks and driveway aprons;
- Install Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant curb ramps at intersections; and
- Replace / repair damaged underground water, sewer, and/or drainage lines.
The project began in October 2020 and is expected to be completed in winter 2022.
Information about this project was made available at a pre-construction public meeting on September 10, 2020. The presentation can be found here.
