This month’s work on the $6.3M Treme-Lafitte Group A infrastructure and road improvement project included adjusting manholes and placing base course materials in the 1800 – 1900 blocks of Bayou Road, and excavating the roadway and placing base course materials in the 1100 – 1200 blocks of St. Philip Street. Crews also began placing ADA ramps and new sidewalks in the 2100 – 2300 blocks of Bayou Road, and a binder course of asphalt, one of the final applications to a finished roadway, was installed along Treme Street.
The scope of work for this City of New Orleans and Sewerage & Water Board of New Orleans joint infrastructure project may include:
• Replacing/repairing damaged underground water, sewer and/or drainage lines;
• Repairing damaged curbs and gutters;
• Patching the roadway with asphalt;
• Repaving the asphalt roadway from curb-to-curb;
• Replacing damaged sidewalks and driveway aprons; and
• Installing Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant curb ramps at intersections.
The project is scheduled for completion in spring 2021.
