All water main installations have been completed between Ring and Amethyst streets and all water line tie-ins have been completed at Jewel and Amethyst, so all houses from Ring to Amethyst are now connected to the new water main. In December, Palmisano construction crews began working on sewer line house connections at Amethyst Street and are working their way southbound. Catch basin tops are beginning to be formed between Ring Street and Jewel Street, and as catch basins are installed, crews will begin installing yard drains to the nearest catch basin.
The scope of the $4.5M Canal Boulevard Reconstruction project includes replacing the drain, sewer and water lines, rebuilding the street entirely, repairing sidewalks and curbs, installing a dedicated bike lane, and installing Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-complaint curb ramps.
Information about this project was made available at a pre-construction public meeting held in June 2019. Access the presentation here.
