Work on the Hollygrove, Leonidas Group A infrastructure improvement project began in March 2020 and continues to progress. Sewer line work is scheduled to wrap up in January 2021. Paving activities are currently at 30 percent completion and will begin to increase throughout the project area. On Jeanette Street, the binder course layer of asphalt was recently installed. The binder and wearing layers of asphalt are two of the final steps in roadway restoration.
The project is expected to be completed in mid-2021, weather permitting.
Scope of work for the $15M infrastructure improvement project may include: replacing/repairing damaged underground water, sewer and/or drainage lines; repairing damaged curbs and gutters; patching the roadway with asphalt; replacing damaged sidewalks and driveway aprons; and installing Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant curb ramps at intersections.
Waggoner Engineering, Inc. is the project designer, and Command Construction, LLC, is the contractor. The project is funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
