City of New Orleans contractor Hard Rock Construction, LLC and its subcontractor, C & M Construction, have completed 95 percent of the concrete work on Milne and Kenilworth streets on the Lakeview South Group A project.
This work includes Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant ramps at curbs; sidewalks; curbs and gutters; and driveways. Concrete work will continue over the next 30-days throughout the project – including the remaining open areas bounded by Harrison Avenue and Kenilworth Street.
The $5.9M Patch, Mill, Overlay and Incidental Road Repair project is designed to remove damaged portions of the asphalt roadway and replace it with new, smooth pavement. The project was designed by Richard C. Lambert Consultants, LLC.
The scope of work varies block by block but includes the following:
- Patch Mill / Overlay: Repaving the asphalt roadway from curb to curb and repairing damaged sidewalks;
- Patch Concrete: Removing damaged portions of the concrete roadway and replacing it with new smooth concrete pavement;
- Incidental Road Repairs: Removing damaged portions of the asphalt roadway and replacing it with new smooth pavement; and
- Non-Paving Incidentals: Repairing damaged sidewalks, driveway aprons and curbs within the public right-of-way.
Details of the construction sequencing and timeline were first made available at the pre-construction public meeting. View a copy of the public meeting presentation and details about construction sequencing here.
