Wallace C. Drennan, Inc. crews are more than 75 percent complete with the Lower Ninth Ward Northwest Group B project. Crews continue waterline installations and tie-ins, and they have completed a substantial amount of the concrete pours along Reynes Street. Weekend work will continue through February in an effort to move the project into substantial completion by spring 2021.
Residents will continue to be notified of work that will impact their access and / or cause disruptions to utilities. RoadworkNOLA will also notify residents in advance of any extended day or weekend work that may be necessary.
Construction started in late December 2019 and is expected to be complete in spring 2021, weather permitting. This $5.7M project, designed by Burk–Kleinpeter, Inc., varies block by block but includes the following:
- Installing new subsurface drainage, sewer, and water lines;
- Removing and replacing sidewalks and driveways aprons;
- Installing Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant curb ramps at intersections;
- Adjusting manholes; and
- Repaving the roadway.
Details of this project were made available at a pre-construction meeting. View a copy of the public meeting presentation here. For more information about this project and other upcoming work, please visit roadwork.nola.gov or call 504.658.ROAD (7623).
