Fleming Construction Co., LLC crews, in close collaboration with the Sewerage and Water Board New Orleans, continue water line tie-ins throughout the Lower Ninth Ward Northeast Group B infrastructure improvement project area. Crews tied the new water lines into the community’s existing water supply on Tonti, North Rocheblave, St. Maurice and Tupelo streets in January/February. Residents will continue to be notified of work that will impact vehicular access and / or cause disruptions to their utilities.

This $5.8M project was designed by Neel-Schaffer, Inc. and is being constructed by Fleming Construction Co., LLC.

Construction started in June 2020 and is expected to be complete in fall 2021, weather permitting. This scope of this full-depth reconstruction project varies block by block but may include the following:

• Replacing damaged underground water, sewer and drainage lines;
• Repaving the roadway;
• Replacing damaged sidewalks and driveway aprons; and
• Installing Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant curb ramps at intersections.
