The first of six FEMA-funded construction projects that will improve infrastructure in the New Orleans East area between Read Boulevard, Interstate-510, Chef Menteur Highway and Interstate-10—known formally as the Read Boulevard East neighborhood—is now underway. The approximately $3.9M construction contract was awarded to Hard Rock Construction, LLC and includes a variety of construction types. The Department of Public Works’ construction contractor, Hard Rock Construction, LLC, is now 5 percent complete with the first of three planned FEMA-funded construction projects in the Village de L’est neighborhood. The total value of planned work in the neighborhood is more than $20M.

The Michoud Boulevard Reconstruction Project is approximately 40 percent complete. The project was designed by Evans-Graves Engineers, Inc. and is being built by Cycle Construction Company, LLC. Inclement weather and unforeseen site conditions shifted the project schedule. The Michoud Boulevard Reconstruction Project is now scheduled to be completed in early summer 2018.

This is the first of four construction projects planned for the Lake Terrace and Oaks neighborhood. Bounded by Robert E. Lee Boulevard, Franklin Avenue, Lakeshore Drive and St. Bernard Avenue, this project was awarded for $2.4M.

Gentilly Terrace Group A is the first of ten construction projects planned for the Gentilly Terrace neighborhood.  Bounded by Peoples Avenue, Filmore Avenue, Elysian Fields Avenue, Interstate-610 and Interstate 10.
