The second of several planned FEMA-funded construction projects, which will help improve road conditions in the Lower Ninth Ward neighborhood, is now under construction. The Lower Ninth Ward Northeast Group A, was designed by Neel - Schaffer, Inc. and awarded to Beverly Construction LLC for $3.4M.

Beverly Construction LLC crews are scheduled to begin moving traffic control signs and barrels into the neighborhood and beginning to mark out future excavation sites in January/February.

The Lower Ninth Ward Northeast Group A project scope of work includes:

• Repaving the asphalt roadway from curb-to-curb;
• Patching the roadway with asphalt;
• Repairing damaged sidewalks and driveway aprons; and
• Installing Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant curb ramps at appropriate intersections.
