FRENCH QUARTER INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT – PHASE 2

The City of New Orleans, Department of Public Works and Sewerage & Water Board began a full reconstruction project on Bourbon Street from St. Louis to Dumaine streets (500-800 blocks) on September 17, 2018. Work is occurring sequentially from the 500 – 800 blocks, with ONLY one block fenced off at a time throughout construction.  All businesses along this corridor are open and accessible throughout construction. 

WESTBANK FEMA-FUNDED ROADWORK CONTRACT NOW 42 PERCENT COMPLETE

WESTBANK FEMA-FUNDED ROADWORK CONTRACT NOW 42 PERCENT COMPLETE

Durr Heavy Construction, LLC crews are currently 42 percent complete with the Westbank Group A project scope. Crews are currently working in the Algiers Point neighborhood and are scheduled to be in that neighborhood through the spring of 2019. Crews are using a portion of the batture area as a staging and laydown yard for materials. The staging area is contractually required to be returned to its original condition at the conclusion of construction.

COMMAND CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRIES, LLC CREWS 88 PERCENT COMPLETE ON S. GALVEZ STREET PROJECT, CONSTRUCION SCHEDULED TO LAST UNTIL MARDI GRAS

Command Construction Industries, LLC has completed all the utility work on the river side of S. Galvez Street between Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Toledano Street. Traffic on Toledano Street is reduced to one lane while the river side of the project is detoured to S. Claiborne Avenue and S. Broad Street for the duration of construction. Poor weather conditions in December 2018 have shifted the project schedule; construction is now scheduled to last until Mardi Gras 2019.

CONVENTION CENTER BOULEVARD $557M RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT UNDERWAY

The New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center is currently reconstructing Convention Center Boulevard between Poydras and Henderson streets in the Warehouse District. The construction is part of the $557 million Convention Center Development District Project that includes converting Convention Center Boulevard into a landscaped public park.

S. BROAD ST. IMPROVEMENTS 46 PERCENT COMPLETE

The Department of Public Works’ construction contractors are approximately 46 percent complete implementing the S. Broad Street Improvement Project between Erato Street and Tulane Avenue.
