The Department of Public Works’ construction contractor, Hard Rock Construction, LLC is wrapping up the first of three planned FEMA-funded construction projects in the Village de L’Est neighborhood.
Preparation for final completion and project close-out continues, which is expected by the end of January 2019.
The scope of work for this project varies depending on the condition of the roadway surface and underground utilities. View the project map here to see what work has been completed on your block. The type of work includes the following:
- Patch Mill / Overlay: Repaving the asphalt roadway from curb to curb and repairing damaged sidewalks;
- Patch Concrete: Removing damaged portions of the concrete roadway and replacing it with new smooth concrete pavement;
- Incidental Road Repairs: Removing damaged portions of the asphalt roadway and replacing it with new smooth pavement; and
- Non-Paving Incidentals: Repairing damaged sidewalks, driveway aprons and curbs within the public right-of-way.
