City of New Orleans contractor Beverly Construction recently receieved approval from the Department of Public Works, Sewerage and Water Board and FEMA to add additional roadway and waterline work to the West End Group A project. This additional scope of work will address preexistent shallow waterlines and elevation issues throughout the project, including necessary corrections on 22nd Street. The project will now end January 2021 in order to accommodate the new scope.
This $5.6M project was designed by Atkins Inc.; the scope varies block by block, but includes the following:
- Patching the roadway with asphalt or concrete;
- Replacing damaged portions of concrete with new, level concrete;
- Repairing damaged curbs and gutters;
- Repairing damaged sidewalks and driveway aprons;
- Installing Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant curb ramps at intersection; and
- Replacing/repairing damaged underground water and drainage lines.
