PREPARATION FOR WATER LINE WORK BEGINS ON LAKEVIEW NORTH GROUP C

This month Palmisano Construction crews, in close collaboration with Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans, performed water line test closures in preparation for upcoming utility work associated with the Lakeview North Group C infrastructure improvement project. Test closures allow crews to identify areas that may potentially experience service disruptions when a new water line is being tied into an existing water line. Water line tie-ins are scheduled to begin later this month. In addition to preparing for water line installations, crews continued repairing sidewalks and driveway aprons throughout the project area.

This month the Department of Public Works (DPW) and its inspectors continued pre-pour inspections on the West End Group A infrastructure improvement project. These inspections ensure everything is properly constructed prior to placement of the final layer of concrete. Concrete pours on Regents, Kennison and Roy streets are expected to be complete by early February, weather permitting. The project is approximately 80 percent complete and on target to wrap up in the spring.
