The Filmore South Group A project, which broke ground in August 2019, is nearly 99 percent complete. The $4.4M project is designed to bring better transportation infrastructure and drainage to the area. This month, Hard Rock Construction Co., LLC replaced drainage lines, curbs, streets and sidewalks on Cartier, King, Mandolin, Miles, Moore, Overton, Park Island, and Perlita streets. All work is expected to be completed in February 2021, weather permitting.

Hard Rock Construction Co., LLC is working on the $4.2M Filmore North Group B project by repairing broken water lines and rebuilding damaged roads in the Upper Gentilly neighborhood. Crews are currently working on Mirabeau Avenue and the surrounding area with the project expected to be completed in summer 2021.

Boh Bros Construction Co., LLC crews completed drainage line installation work on Oriole Street in late December as part of the Lake Terrace and Oaks Group D infrastructure improvement project. Crews continue to work in close collaboration with the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans to install water lines within the project limits. Crews are currently working on Oriole and Kildeer streets and will continue to inform residents ahead of any work that will involve utility disruptions and / or impacts to parking and access to their street.

The $7.1M Milneburg Group B infrastructure improvement project got underway as scheduled in December 2020. Crews began working on water lines on several streets this month, including Marigny Street from New York Street to Robert E Lee Boulevard.; Spain Street from New York Street to Robert E Lee Boulevard; and Mexico Street from Elysian Fields Avenue to Spain Steet.

This month, crews from Command Construction, LLC began drain line work on Robert E. Lee Boulevard and Arts Street. The plan is to complete Arts Street then move on to finishing up the drainage work on Mexico Street. Crews also continue working on water line work throughout the project area. Once the underground utilities are repaired or replaced, pavement restoration can begin.
