City of New Orleans contractor Barriere Construction and their subcontractor Dieudonne Enterprises, Inc. are scheduled to begin forming and placing Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant ramps on the St. Charles Avenue project.
The project, a joint effort between the City of New Orleans and the Louisiana Department of Transportation, is currently 20 percent completed and is expected to be wrapped up this fall.
This $1.3M project, designed by Linfield, Hunter, and Junius, LLC., includes the following scope of work:
- Repaving the asphalt roadway from curb-to-curb;
- Installing Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant curb ramps at intersections;
- Repairing damaged sidewalks adjacent to ADA ramps;
- Patching in preparation for the next phase of construction; and
- Replacing street tiles.
