The long-awaited Michoud Blvd. reconstruction project is now underway. Crews mobilized to the site in early June and are currently installing a new bus cut through on the Dwyer Rd. neutral ground. The $3.8M reconstruction project includes:
- Installing a new cut through on Dwyer Rd.;
- Replacing the existing water, sewer and drainage lines Chef Menteur Hwy. to Dwyer Rd.;
- Repaving the roadway in concrete between the Michoud Bridge and Dwyer Rd.,
- Repaving the roadway in asphalt from the Michoud Bridge to Chef Menteur Hwy.; and
- Installing new sidewalks and ADA-compliant curb ramps at intersections.
The project was designed by Evans-Graves Engineers, Inc. and is being built by Cycle Construction Company, LLC. Residents who wish to follow this project may write roadwork@nola.gov or call 504-658-ROAD to be added to the project contact list.
