The Department of Public Works’ construction contractor, Hard Rock Construction, LLC, is now 50 percent complete with the first of three planned FEMA-funded construction projects in the Village de L’est neighborhood.

The Michoud Boulevard Reconstruction Project is approximately 55 percent complete. The project was designed by Evans-Graves Engineers, Inc. and is being built by Cycle Construction Company, LLC. Inclement weather and unforeseen site conditions have once again shifted the project schedule. The Michoud Boulevard Reconstruction Project is now scheduled to be completed at the end of the year.

City of New Orleans contractor Beverly Construction LLC are now substantially complete with work in the first phase of the  Lower Ninth Ward Northeast Group A (the western area bounded by North Claiborne Avenue, Jackson Barracks, Florida Avenue and Caffin Avenue). Crews have already begun preliminary work in the second phase (the eastern area bounded by North Claiborne Avenue, Jackson Barracks, Florida Avenue and Caffin Avenue). The project is currently close to 35 percent completion.

The Department of Public Works’ construction contractor, Fleming Construction Co., LLC, in collaboration with the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans, continue to replace water lines on the $4.8M Lower Ninth Ward Northwest Group A project.

The Department of Public Works has started construction on the first of four planned construction projects, designed to improve infrastructure in the Desire neighborhood.
