The City of New Orleans, working with FEMA-Hazard Mitigation funds and the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans, recently hosted a community meeting to discuss the 60 percent complete design plans of a green and grey infrastructure improvement project that will improve stormwater drainage in the Filmore neighborhood. Green and grey infrastructure measures help detain and retain water and prevent subsidence.
The purpose of the meeting was to allow residents to brainstorm possible uses for the space that would be located directly above the new water detention tanks. View a copy of the meeting presentation here.
