This $3.9M project is the first of six construction projects planned to improve the infrastructure in the Read Boulevard East neighborhood, which spans from Read Boulevard I-10, I-510 and Chef Menteur Highway.
Hard Rock Construction, LLC crews have now completed all concrete and asphalt street paving. Sidewalks, curbs, driveways, and Americans-with-Disabilities-Act (ADA) ramps are near completion. Punch list items will be compiled for the upcoming scheduled walkthroughs. View the project map here.
Work is now down to one crew concentrated on sidewalks and Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant ramps. Residents are asked to please be patient as we work to improve infrastructure conditions in your neighborhood.
The scope work varies by block but includes the following types of work:
- Patch Mill / Overlay: Repaving the asphalt roadway from curb to curb and repairing damaged sidewalks;
- Patch Concrete: Removing damaged portions of the concrete roadway and replacing it with new smooth concrete pavement;
- Incidental Road Repairs: Removing damaged portions of the asphalt roadway and replacing it with new smooth pavement; and
- Non-Paving Incidentals: Repairing damaged sidewalks, driveway aprons and curbs within the public right-of-way.
