On Wednesday, June 5, 2019, the City of New Orleans’ Office of Resilience and Sustainability, Project Delivery Unit – Sustainable Infrastructure Team in partnership with the design team for the Milne Campus Resilience Project – Dana Brown and Associates; co-hosted a youth engagement workshop. This outreach activity was programmed with multiple interactive stations, designed to educate and encourage youth feedback / participation with green infrastructure and stormwater management, as well as to inform project design – in a fun and engaging experience.

The Milne Campus Project aims to reduce neighborhood flooding and lessen the burden on the City’s drainage / pumping system by storing over 3.7 million gallons of stormwater through a network of green infrastructure interventions. The Campus will also provide learning and social opportunities for New Orleans youth, improve public health, and increase economic development and vitality in historic Gentilly.
