The long-awaited Michoud Blvd. reconstruction project is scheduled to begin in early June and will last about one year. The $3.8M reconstruction project includes reconstructing the portion of Michoud Blvd. from Chef Menteur Hwy. to Dwyer Rd. The project was designed by Evans-Graves Engineers, Inc. and will be built by Cycle Construction Company, LLC.
The City hosted two public meetings to describe the project scope and anticipated construction impacts. View a copy of the public meeting presentation here.
The scope of the project includes:
- Replacing the existing water, sewer and drainage lines:
- Repaving the roadway in concrete between the Michoud Bridge and Dwyer Rd.;
- Repaving the roadway in asphalt from the Michoud Bridge to Chef Menteur Hwy; and
- Installing new sidewalks and American with Disabilities Act-compliant curb ramps at intersections.
