Command Construction, LLC crews have completed several blocks of roadway construction as part of the Little Woods Group A project, including the majority of Wales Street. Currently crews are working on paving operations on the west end of the project working their way to the east end (Dowman Road to Bullard Avenue).
Crews continue working to complete blocks that do not include waterlines as they comply with the moratorium on waterline tie-ins related to COVID-19. Tie-in operations will resume in projects across the city in June.
Those who have been impacted by the pause in waterline tie-ins will continue to have temporary access to their driveways. Residents will be notified of work that will impact their access and/or cause disruption to their utilities.
The scope of this $14M Patch, Mill, Overlay and Incidental Road Repair project varies by block but includes:
- Repaving the asphalt roadway from curb-to-curb;
- Patching the roadway with asphalt or concrete;
- Repairing damaged sidewalks and driveway aprons;
- Installing Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant curb ramps at intersections; and
- Replacing / repairing damaged underground water, sewer, and/or drainage lines.
Details of this project were first made available at the pre-construction public meeting. View a copy of the public meeting presentation and details about construction sequencing here.
