Command Construction Industries, LLC crews are 30 percent complete with the Fleur de Lis Dr. Phase III Reconstruction Project between 30th Street and Old Hammond Highway in the West End neighborhood.
Work on the new water and sewer lines is completed and crews are now approximately 25 percent complete installing the new drainage lines in the northbound lane. Two additional construction crews are now preparing the roadway base for concrete placement. Pavement work is scheduled to begin in December.
The traffic shift to the southbound travel lane is scheduled to occur in the spring as the majority of the utility work is on the northbound lane. Due to increased scope and weather delays, the project is now scheduled to be completed in fall 2018.
The scope of work includes:
- Removing and replacing the underground water, sewer and drainage lines;
- Repaving the roadway; and
- Installing new sidewalks and Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant curb ramps at intersections.
