The first of six FEMA-funded construction projects that will improve infrastructure in the New Orleans East area between Read Boulevard, Interstate-510, Chef Menteur Highway and Interstate-10 - known formally as the Read Boulevard East neighborhood - is scheduled to begin on December 4, 2017. The approximately $3.9M construction contract was awarded to Hard Rock Construction, LLC and includes a variety of construction types. - Incidental Road Repairs: Remove damaged portions of the asphalt roadway and replace it with new smooth pavement.
- Non-Paving Incidentals: Repair damaged sidewalks, driveway aprons and curbs within the public right-of-way.
The City will host a public meeting to discuss general construction sequencing and construction impacts residents can expect during the project on Thursday, November 30 at 6 p.m. at the New Orleans East Library.
