The City, its partners and construction contractors, are scheduled to open the newly re-constructed 200, 300 and 400 blocks of Bourbon Street in December. The concrete roadway in the 300 block of Bourbon Street was placed in September; however, work in the intersections of Conti and Bienville streets is preventing through vehicular traffic at this time.
Construction of the 100 block of Bourbon Street was completed in September and bollard installation is scheduled for December.
The project is being closely coordinated with a number of stakeholders including the Sewerage and Water Board, Entergy Electric, Entergy Gas and AT&T.
Residents and business owners in the French Quarter can expect to be kept updated on construction status via weekly e-mail updates and also in person bi-weekly meetings on the first and third Thursday of the month at 10 a.m. at the corner of Bienville and Bourbon streets. To be added to the project contact list, email roadwork@nola.gov. View the project webpage here.
The City is working with Stay Local and other partners to support local French Quarter businesses during construction.
