Award of the Filmore North Group A construction contract continues to be delayed due to a contract protest. Construction is no longer anticipated to begin this fall, it is likely to begin in 2019.
The estimated budget including engineering, design, geotechnical testing and construction planned in the entire Filmore neighborhood is approximately $67 M. This budget is likely to change pending project bids and construction costs.
Designed by Professional Engineering Consultants Corporation (PEC), the first project calls for a variety of work that varies by block and includes some waterline replacements:
- Patch Mill / Overlay: Repave the asphalt roadway from curb to curb and repair damaged sidewalks;
- Patch Concrete: Remove damaged portions of the concrete roadway and replace it with new smooth concrete pavement;
- Incidental Road Repairs: Remove damaged portions of the asphalt roadway and replace it with new smooth pavement; and
- Non-Paving Incidentals: Repair damaged sidewalks, driveway aprons and curbs within the public right-of-way.
The City will host a pre-construction public meeting to discuss anticipated construction impacts prior to the start of construction. To be added to the project contact list, and to track our progress, visit RoadWork.nola.gov.
