Construction continues on the full reconstruction of the 800 and 900 blocks of Taft Place.
The scope of work for the $2.3M FEMA-funded project includes repairing sewer, water, and drainage lines; rebuilding the street entirely; repairing sidewalks and curbs; installing Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant curb ramps; and re-installing the street’s historic granite curbs.
Water, sewer and drain lines have been installed in the 800 block, along with catch basins and newly paved roadway. The new water line has been installed in the 900 block.
The project, designed by ECM Consultants, Inc. and awarded to Beverly Construction, is scheduled to be complete by the end of 2019, weather permitting.
