Boh Bros construction crews, in close collaboration with the Department of Public Works and Sewerage and Water Board plan to begin the added scope on Arabella Street as a part of the $7.3M Audubon Group A infrastructure improvement project. The 900-1100 blocks of Arabella will be fully reconstructed to include new drainage and waterlines. This work is expected to be complete within 60 days, weather permitting. The added scope of work extends the project to January 2022.
Work on Arabella has been scheduled toward the end of the project in order to ensure that other areas were complete, including work that impacts schools and medical facilities within the project footprint. Currently 100% of the drainage work is done on the project.
Any residents that require reasonable accommodations on the sire are encouraged to call the RoadworkNOLA Hotline at 504.658.ROAD (7623). Residents will continue to be informed ahead of any work that will involve utility disruption and / or impact their parking and access to their streets.
This project was designed by All South Consulting Engineers, LLC. The scope of work varies block by block but includes the following:
- Repave the asphalt roadway from curb to curb;
- Patch the roadway with asphalt or concrete;
- Repair damaged sidewalks and driveway aprons;
- Install Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant curb ramps at intersections; and
- Replace / repair damaged underground water, sewer, and / or drainage lines.
Information about this project was made available at a pre-construction public meeting on May 21, 2020. The presentation can be found here.
