The $2.9M Old Spanish Trail (Nighthart Street – Sherwood Drive) project, which broke ground in February 2021, continues the full-depth reconstruction that was designed by Mott MacDonald and is being constructed by Beverly Construction Company, LLC. Crews have finalized drainage and waterline installation and are moving onto roadway restoration on the northbound lane of Old Spanish Trail. Paving operations are expected to complete by early November.
Neighborhood Engagement Office Liaisons and the president of the neighborhood association are actively engaged with distributing notifications to spread awareness and reduce the impact of these closures. The project is expected to be completed in winter 2021.

- Full Reconstruction: Repair sewage, water, and drainage line, rebuild the street entirely, and repair sidewalks and curbs.
The City of New Orleans hosted a public community meeting in January 2020 to discuss anticipated impacts to the community. View a copy of the presentation here. For more information about this project and other upcoming work, please visit roadwork.nola.gov or call 504.658.ROAD (7623).
