Palmisano Construction crews in close collaboration with Sewerage and Water Board continued waterline work on Read Boulevard West Group C project this summer. While a substantial amount of the waterline work is complete, critical waterline-related work at Chef Menteur Highway is under review by the Louisiana Department of Transportation Department (LaDOTD). Because Chef Menteur Highway is a state roadway, there must be careful coordination between all agencies to ensure minimal impacts to the community.
In addition to waterline work crews are also repaving roadways and pouring back sidewalks and driveways throughout the project. The project is on course for completion in fall 2021.
The scope of this $10M patch, mill, overlay and incidental road repairs project varies by block but includes:
- Repaving the asphalt roadway from curb to curb;
- Patching the roadway with asphalt or concrete;
- Repairing damaged sidewalks and driveway aprons;
- Installing Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant curb ramps at intersections; and
- Replacing / repairing damaged underground water, sewer, and / or drainage lines.
Details of this project were first made available at the pre-construction public meeting. View a copy of the public meeting presentation and details about construction sequencing here.
