The Mayor’s Neighborhood Engagement Office invites all New Orleans neighborhood leaders and residents to register to attend the 2017 New Orleans Neighborhood Summit, a free, one-day conference featuring skill-building workshops, City information sessions and opportunities for residents to connect with others working to build stronger and more resilient communities.  The Summit will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at the University Medical Center – Conference Center from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. 

 

Two FEMA-funded construction projects that will improve infrastructure in the Lower Ninth Ward are tentatively scheduled to start construction later this year.

The St. Charles Ave. Repaving Project, designed to remove and replace damaged portions of the asphalt roadway between Louisiana Ave. and Calliope St. recently moved into the third and final phase of construction.

Construction crews are scheduled to begin working on the first of two construction projects planned for the Read Blvd. West neighborhood in January 2018. Bounded by Dwyer Rd., Read Blvd., Flake Ave. and Chef Menteur Highway, this first construction project includes the following types of work:

The first of six FEMA-funded construction projects that will improve infrastructure in the New Orleans East area between Read Blvd., Interstate-510, Chef Menteur Highway and Interstate-10 - known formally as the Read Blvd. East neighborhood - is scheduled to begin in early December. The approximately $3.9M construction contract was awarded to Hard Rock Construction, LLC and includes a variety of construction types.
