Durr Heavy Construction, LLC crews are 20 percent finished with the Westbank Group A project scope. Crews are currently working in the Whitney neighborhood. The majority of the damaged concrete panels planned to be removed as part of this contract are complete. Asphalt paving work continues this month, while concrete crews are removing frames on newly installed Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant curb ramps and sidewalks. Construction crews will next move to the Algiers Point and McDonogh neighborhoods to perform similar scopes of work.
The Westbank Group A project is the first of two planned FEMA-funded construction projects on the Westbank of New Orleans. This first project was designed by Richard C. Lambert Consultants, LLC and includes approximately $3.7 million in construction work throughout the Westbank. The construction value is expected to increase this month as the project team addresses constructability issues.

- Patch Concrete: Removing damaged portions of the concrete roadway and replacing them with new, smooth concrete pavement;
- Incidental Road Repairs: Removing damaged portions of the asphalt roadway and replacing them with new, smooth pavement; and
- Non-Paving Incidentals: Repairing damaged sidewalks, driveway aprons and curbs within the public right-of-way.
