Work is wrapping up on the St. Claude Drainage Improvement project. In October, crews from Infinity Construction completed pouring new ADA ramps at Marias and Montegut; formed the bio-retention wall at the corner of Montegut and Urquhart; and began installing the roadway binder course in the 1100-1200 blocks of Montegut, the 1100 block of Feliciana, the 2800 block of Marias, and the 2800 block of Urquhart. The project is on schedule for substantial completion next month, weather permitting.
The $1.5M St. Claude Drainage Improvements project is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Community Development Block Grant Program. Scope of work includes:
- Replacing damaged water, sewer and drainage lines;
- Rebuilding the street entirely;
- Repairing sidewalks and curbs; and
- Installing Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant curb ramps at intersections.
The project area includes the 1100 blocks of Montegut and Feliciana streets as well as the 3000 blocks of Urquhart and Marais. All businesses in the area remain open and accessible. Details of this project were made available at the pre-construction public meeting. View a copy of the public meeting presentation here.
