Wallace C. Drennan, in close collaboration with Sewerage and Water Board New Orleans, continued installations and tie-ins of water lines on the Lower Ninth Ward Northwest Group B project in September. While crews continue with water line installations and tie-ins, concrete crews have started pouring back roadway, sidewalks and driveway aprons along Reynes Street.
Residents will continue to be notified of work that will impact their access and/or cause disruption to their utilities. RoadWork NOLA will also notify residents in advance of any extended day or weekend work that may be necessary.
This $5.7M project, designed by Burk–Kleinpeter, Inc., varies block by block but includes the following:
• Installation of new subsurface drainage, sewer, and water lines;
• Removal and replacement of sidewalks and driveways aprons;
• Installation of Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant curb ramps at intersections;
• Manhole adjustments; and
• Repaving of the roadway.
Details of this project were made available at the pre-construction public meeting. View a copy of the public meeting presentation here.
